I couldn't let April go by without acknowledging that it was Autism awareness month. Autism is a Neurodevelopment disorder type where individuals diagnosed experience social difficulties, communication, and interpersonal interactions. These symptoms ae noticed during a young age usually in the toddler stage 1-3 and have lasting effects into adulthood such as difficulty maintaining a job, developing relationships, and understanding social norms. It is important in my opinion to be able to identify and understand various conditions even for the lay person so that we as a society become more sensitive and less judgmental. Others of us either have worked with, or loved an individual with this condition and are able to see them as simply Mary, John, Jane or Mike. Lets all stretch out our arms and receive and embrace these individuals as such and acknowledge them whether its April or not.
Much love and light!
